How To Throw A Great Party… A great party will be talked about for years a bad party won’t necessarily ruin you but it will be quickly forgotten! Throwing a great party isn’t necessarily that hard, you just need to look at what you can do with the resources you have and arrange it as best you can, very loose I know! Anyway i’m going to go through some of the elements that I think make a great party. A clear space – Make sure you have a good clear space for the party to happen. You need plenty of talking space, space around the refrigerator (always a good party point) and chairs for more tired people. The bathrooms should be clean and de-cluttered and all important furniture should be out of the way. If you can provide some kind of warm garden space that is always great too. How To Throw A Great Party Music – You need continuous music spanning popular genres and generally uplifting. Try and think about who is coming and what music will suit the audience. Loose rules – A sit down dinner and seating arrangements is all very well and nice but it constricts people. A good party for everyone is one where they feel free to be who they are and act how they want. If they want to dance they can, if they want to chit chat they can, they can choose to eat or not, choose to drink, whatever. Snack food – Snacks are loved by everyone and should be placed all around. Easy clean food like small cookies, pretzels and vegetable sticks are good choices. Alcohol and beverages – I would try and ask each guest to bring a certain amount if you are pooling it all together and then also top it up with some extra host supplied alcohol, don’t go crazy just a little extra in-case things do run dry! Also try and supply ample non-alcoholic drinks and plenty of ice. Guest lists – You should have a pretty good idea who is turning up and don’t invite people because you feel you have to. If you have room for people to bring friends that is fine but try and limit it and get them to tell you before hand so you don’t end up with any bad eggs! How To Throw A Great Party So that’s my run-down of the basics. If a party meets all this criteria I will likely have a great time! What things would you make sure were on this list or off of it?
