Become a Resident Assistant Becoming a Resident Assistant (RA) in one of the residence halls is one of the easiest ways to literally eliminate your living expensive and have the university pay for your housing. At most institutions the RA's in the residence halls get to live in the residence halls for free and receive other perks that come with the job. If you are selected to become an RA you could potentially save yourself $6000+ in living expenses, and it only gets better the longer you hold the position. There are many different ways to cut cost and save money as a college student. Your books and your housing expenses will more than likely be your largest and most expensive expenses.
