Tim Hortons Healthy Options – Although not as good as they used to be, in my opinion, I still love running into Tim Hortons, grabbing an ultra strong coffee (knocks my socks off) and a bite to eat. I normally grab a bagel and cream cheese or a croisant, sometimes i’ll even grab a donut, not exactly healthy options! But I don’t normally run into Tim Hortons when I am feeling the need for a healthy snack, it’s a treat thing and not at all something I do daily. Hoever like many fast food retailers the shifting trends of what the public want have pushed them to start making changes to their menu and now some of the items are closer to the realm of what one might call a “healthy option”. Tim Hortons Healthy Options Tim Hortons Healthy Options So what are these healthy options? Well according to Tim Hortons website here are some of the belly kind menu items now available. Light lunches with less than 3 grams of fat. The restaurants normally have these on rotation: Chicken Noodle soup Beef Noodle soup Hearty Vegetable soup Minestrone soup Turkey & Wild Rice soup Split Pea & Ham soup Sandwiches with 8 grams of fat or less: Turkey Bacon Club Toasted Chicken Club Ham & Swiss with honey mustard Wrap snackers with less than 200 calories: Chicken Ranch BBQ Chicken Chicken Salad I think it is great that eating habits are at least changing to make these outlets think about being perceived as more healthy. I would still worry about the amount of things like salt in some fast food ‘healthy’ choices and I don’t know exactly how Tim Hortons offerings measure up. Generally I will still be using them mostly as a treat option but I guess if it was a regular day and I was meeting someone for coffee I may be arm twisted into trying something from the healthier side. The soups are probably very good. Have you tried any of these healthy offerings or do you intend to? Do you even visit Tim Hortons when in Canada or do you have another favorite?
